Sunday’s are set aside as a day of rest and that means Sunday afternoon naps are a good thing. I don’t know about you, but that nap on Sunday afternoon is the best. We go to church, where we rest in the Lord, and then we come home, and we rest on the couch.
Matthew 11:28-30 MSG
“Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
Get away by resting in the Lord. Watch the ease of Jesus as He engages with the people He came into contact with on a daily basis. He is humble and kind. He is genuine and generous. Jesus is hopeful and He is our hope. He has an unforced rhythm of grace that is easy and He offers us that same ease. Rest easy in Jesus. His yoke is easy for us to carry and He gives us hope. Rest assured in the hope that is Jesus, because He is the best rest we could ever encounter, whatever the day of the week.
