It takes a village. I’m not necessarily talking about child rearing. I am talking about lending a hand and helping one another out. We have all been stuck at one time or another and that’s when we really need to help one another. I was recently helped out of a jam by a friend and it was such a blessing. It truly makes a difference when we get that helping hand that takes us from stuck to unstuck.
Philippians 2:4 MSG
“Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.”
Lending a helping hand isn’t necessarily about money. It’s about our time and our willingness to help. A smile, a listening ear and a hug can make a big difference to someone who is down in the dumps. A ride can be crucial to someone who has an emergent transportation issue. An invitation to share a meal or a cup of coffee can make a big difference. Offering to arrange a meal, supply a pack of toilet paper, or a tank of gas can make an impact. Helping someone pack, clean or organize can be a blessing. Sometimes it’s as simple as helping someone get out the door with everything that they need. Sharing our helping hands with our friends and family can brighten up someone’s world and make a difference in their lives. We are blessed when we bless others with our helping hands.
