Trying to fit everything we have to do into one day can be hard. Sometimes time just seems to fly by and we wonder where all the hours in the day went. The busyness of life keeps us running from one thing to the next thing, and we can get overwhelmed with everything that we have to do. When we get too busy, we end up setting something aside in order to make room for something else. Busyness isn’t always necessarily productive, but we have to get it all done, right?
Psalms 143:10 NLT
“Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing.”
This verse says it all. Even at our busiest, we can find a quiet moment to seek the Lord. We can post this verse in our bathroom mirrors, on our refrigerator door, over the coffeepot, on our computer monitor or whatever we will see it as we start our day. As we get dressed, while we are brushing our teeth, as we eat our breakfast, as we drive to work, as we sit down at our desk; remember to spend time with the Lord. Make it a priority to ask the Lord to lead you, to help you listen and to hear His Spirit throughout the day. Every day we have the opportunity to begin our day in a quiet moment with the Lord. Busyness may be the culprit, but God is our guide out of the slippery slope associated with the busyness of life and onto firm footing found in His love.
