Completing a complicated project is a great feeling that makes us want to do a little dance. Let’s face it, just marking a single thing off our to-do list can be cause for celebration. Our lives are filled with moments that are cause for joy, and we all know how to do our happy dance when they happen.
John 2:9-10 MSG
“When the host tasted the water that had become wine (he didn’t know what had just happened but the servants, of course, knew), he called out to the bridegroom, “Everybody I know begins with their finest wines and after the guests have had their fill brings in the cheap stuff. But you’ve saved the best till now!”
That very first completed task that Jesus undertook was cause for celebration on so many levels. The first thing we see is that the wedding celebration could continue. Jesus also shows us that He can meet our needs and change our hearts. His disciples were transformed into believers just as we are transformed into believers. His mother was made content, but more importantly His Father was Glorified. When Jesus turned that water into wine, it was the first taste of the new wine to come. That moment was the beginning of His ministry, and Jesus is the best thing that has EVER happened to the world. Now that is something to celebrate.
