This is the time of year that our family completes our annual purge. This year we are tackling a massive project that we have planned repeatedly over the years, but ultimately those plans have run amuck. Planning a big project and having to wait to see it through can be difficult. We make plans, but those plan have to be set aside because of unforeseen circumstances or they just don’t work. Whatever the reason, when things don't work out, frustration and disappointment are usually pretty high up on the list of our responses. However, failed plans are not the end of the world, but it is a hurdle that we have to overcome.
Psalms 37:24 NCV
“If they stumble, they will not fall, because the LORD holds their hand.”
The only true failure is when we don’t get back up and try again. One of life’s lessons is realizing that our plans may not work out the way we envisioned them. When things don’t work out the way we thought they would, we know that we can always turn to God. Knowing that God has our back and that He will steer us through the obstacles that we encounter when things don’t work out, is what helps us get back up and try again. When we do that, we will have a new plan, a new purpose, and hopefully, we will have gained useful knowledge and wisdom. God offers us encouragement and guidance, and we learn to let go of what didn’t work, and move forward with a new outlook towards what’s coming next. Every day is a new opportunity to begin again, and we know that God’s mercies are new every single day. Thank God everyday that His love, mercy and faithfulness never end, and that He is there to help us through all that life has to offer.
