Drinking Water

January 8, 2019

Our drinking water comes from a well. Normally it tastes wonderful and sweet, that is until recently. Something was wrong. It tasted funny and smelled even worse. We know that we can run into a branch of sulfur water on occasion that is usually taken care by our purification system, but for some reason it was not taking care of the problem. We ran tests, purged the system and did everything we could think of and then we called the water guy. Naturally they were running behind because of the holidays, so we had to adjust our lives around the water. Bottled water for everything except bathing, and a bag of ice helped make the transition easier. It wasn’t that the water was bad for us, it just didn’t taste good. You can never quench your thirst on bad tasting water.

John‬ ‭4:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”

Yes! A fresh bubbling spring of fresh, living water. This verse was a great reminder that the water that Jesus provides us with is better than any other water we could ever hope to find. His Living Water is always fresh and refreshing, it tastes good and it’s good for us. When the world around us is stinky and unpalatable, we can take a drink from the Living Water; it's the very best water and it lasts forever.

(FYI - Our system has been repaired and our water is back to tasting great!)
