My super power is organization. Generally, I can lay my hand on an item rather quickly. I have a knack for it, although looking at my garage right now you wouldn’t know it. I’m currently reorganizing a few boxes of items that had been packed up for several years. My Mom was a great organizer. She would staple the original receipt inside of each users manual and then strategically stored each one. Every piece of paper was important for some reason. As I have been going through her things, I have burned my way through one shredder, and here’s hoping that I’ll be finished before I burn up the new one. <grin> As I sift through the things, and the papers, and the past, it has certainly been revealing. Knowledge and understanding can reveal everything we didn’t know we were looking to find.
Matthew 13:52 MSG
"He said, “Then you see how every student well-trained in God’s kingdom is like the owner of a general store who can put his hands on anything you need, old or new, exactly when you need it.”
Learning, discovering and finding new information is a lifelong journey, and we should all consider ourselves students for life. 'If you aren't learning something, you must be dead' was one of my Mom’s favorite sayings. As lifelong students, we can find something relevant in God's Word every day. Every time we read and study, and we will find new depths as God reveals more and more to us. The more we research and read and study the Word, the easier it is to put our mind on the very verse we need, when we need it, it will be strategically stored right where we can find it. With today’s technology, even when we can't find it, or remember just where that verse is located, there's a search engine that can. Like the little engine that could, when we put our mind to it, and with the Lord’s help, we can always locate what we need. As students we should realize that with knowledge comes understanding and with understanding, eventually everything that we are looking for is revealed. Each one of us can become a lifelong, hands-on student of the Word as God teaches and guides us through the process of living well.
