Today was one of those days. Reports of health issues, test results and injuries were coming in right and left. Texts, messages and phone calls alike. Then the feelings started to barge in along with all the information. Those feelings we associate with an unknown outcome. The feelings that can cause us to fall into fear, anxiety and frustration. We can easily find ourselves lost in our feelings when they are pushing and shoving their way into our thoughts. That boxed in, hanging by our fingernails feeling that we can experience when we feel like we are being hemmed in right and left. That hanging by a thread feeling can be challenging.
Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take."
This passage is displayed in my living room, resting within easy eyesight every day. Framed and easy to see, these words sit unobstructed, right under the television, intentionally placed to obscure cables. They also, intentionally, help to remind us that we can depend upon God. Days can go by and we don't read these words or even remember that they are there. Situations come up, circumstances change, plans become unpleasantly confused and information floods in and there they are, reminding us to trust God. God’s Word written with a simple message; I’ve got this. God knows what we are experiencing and how to help us find our way through and come out on the other side of our feelings. When we lean into God, He deposits wisdom and strength and even forgiveness into our lives. When we trust God and seek His will, He will carry us through every challenge we face. We will prevail, because God always prevails. God knows the way through and He makes clear our path. Hang in there; God’s got this. God’s love never fails.
